Do not use this company and report them immediately. These people are criminals operating a scam moving company. They are interstate so using different addresses and fake names in each state so they never actually can get tracked down. Report them to the FMCSA . They need to be prosecuted and arrested and made to pay back all the money they have made scamming people I speak from experience and want to help others so WARNING.
These movers claim to have a 5 star rating and that they are full service- not brokers. We were moving from suburban Chicago to close to the collinsville Illinois area. The movers came in an enterprise rent a truck. The head of the crew marked off the lines in the truck and told me we would owe extra if we crossed the eighth line which according to him was 1200 cu ft. Each line being 150 cu ft. He also said the whole truck was 2000cu ft. I knew his figures were wrong because there were 18 lines in the 26' truck. I called apex before loading and was told by a customer service rep that I was just nervous about moving and everything would be ok! This same man was supposed to call me the day before to confirm my inventory and he neglected to do so. I have moved by professionals 6 times and on our own 5 so I knew something was wrong. I had to let them go ahead because we had to be out that weekend and this was Friday.
It was no surprise that our inventory went over 4 lines- $1475 over the estimate. They wanted cash on delivery so I had to pay them or my things would be held hostage. This involved another trip to the bank and several postal money orders.
It took weeks for me to speak to someone since they are based in Georgia and were evacuated for the hurricane. When I asked if I could speak to someone in another office I was told they would handle it. Finally someone called from the Chicago office on 9/19. She assured me that she would call back in 48 hours. I had just measured a similar truck and had found the lines to be 94 cu ft- not 150. The entire truck is approx 1800 cu feet. So , my inventory should have taken up 12 lines - which it did but I was overcharged for 4 lines of that.
The woman got back to me by email on 9/26 telling me she was still checking with her manager and on 9-28 stating her manager wanted to refund us $200 for our troubles. This when we were overcharged 1475 and withoutasking for any photos I had proving my point. This company is subcontracting people who don't know or care what loading specs are. Or the subcontractors are trying to pad their own pockets at the unknowing consumers expense.

They deliver all the boxes, but items were missed:photo albums, college books, bed linens, pots & pans, blender, cake mixer, toaster, can opener, half of my dish set gone, grill set, 4 ceramic Pyrex, 3 table cloth gone.5 small boxes 95 inches charged as if were the large ones.It took more than a month to deliver and when it finally arrived the movers had other people's stuff and were confused which boxes belonged to me. I received an email telling me, 66.00 was the settlement even though I haven't submit the claims form because they just email it to me. This indecent has caused me emotional distress. My question is can 66.00 dollars replace the above lost items? Is this a fair way to treat a client? I would like for them to recalculate the boxes size and also grant me the amount to replace at least the items that can be replace, only them I will be satisfy about the settlement.
Thank you, for allowing me to write about it. Although I cannot provide photos of my missing photo albums, I can provide proof of the rest.
Sincerely,
Maria E. O'Connor.
DO NOT make the mistake of hiring Apex of Antioch, TN or their partner/parent Atlas VanLines. Wehired them to move our stuff into storage and then on to MI. Several of our belongings were stolen and many damaged. Apex and Atlan could care less! While the industry insurance scam is worthy of a 60 Minutes TV expose' (spent 13K..filed claim for 3K..got a check for 258.00)..it's the lack of caring about us or our belongngs that is the subject here. If I can save just one other family from the pain and stress of our mistake, I'll feel a bit better. Tom Moran.
Horrible Moving Experience Apex Moving &Storage in Piedmont Atlanta.
On June 5th 2017, my fiancé and I did an online estimate where we received a call from John with Apex. After giving a list of the inventory, we received a quote in the amount of $1874.94 with a pickup date of Friday, June 9th. The evening before the pickup date, the Todd contacted me for another inventory review, this time quoting me at a price of $2,414.36. At this time I had already paid a non refundable amount of $563 which increased upon the inflated price and my card was charged an additional $163. Later that day I received a text stating that my shipment was scheduled for pickup on Saturday. I informed that that this would not work because as I had explained earlier that the items are in storage in MD and I have my brother meeting them on that end and I am on the delivery end in GA. All of this was fine until the first issue when the drivers were scheduled to arrive from 11-2 window, no contavt, so I called and was told a driver would be there by 4. At 6:37 the driver called and stated he was an hour out. At 8:15 the driver arrived requesting $1200 in a money order, the first time I was informed that I needed to pay the driver at this time because the company had sent me a release form to charge my credit card. I spoke with Susan in customer service and was met with the rudest exchange. She informed me that all mybdeposut did was secure the drivers arrival and that if I did not pay the additional I would fiorefit my deposit. After scrambling to get them the $1200, my items were packed and I was charged an additional $500. On June 13 at 9:53 pm, I received an email stating that I did not pay the 70% required at the time of pickup and that I owed a remaining balance of $909.98, and at that time I would be scheduled for delivery. The instructions were to wire the money to the companies Chase bank account. Once they received the cash I was informed that I would be placed in the delivery que. I have called to receive a status several times, each time being faced with rude customer service and several different dates all of which have come and gone. In addition, I requested a copy of my contract and have yet to receive. The customer service rep Natasha informed me that the company has 1-10 business days to deliver my hhg each time she scheduled me a date. Today makes the 11th business day from pickup and I have just been informed that my items are still in MD. After being told they would be here NLT today. When I inquired the name of the owner of the company she first stated that she could not give me that information, then she said his name was Jonathan (Vesker) I believe she said was the last name. She then informed me that she would have to call me back because she does not have information on my delivery and I am not showing up on a list.
I called weeks ago to schedule a moving quote with this company. On the day they were supposed to come give a quote, nobody showed up. I called the office 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment, and the lady rudely asked me if I had ever talked to her before. After continuing to insist that I had, she found my name in the log books and gave me the cell number of the individual coming to give my quote. She did not seem at all concerned that he was late. 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment, the lady called back and informed me she had just got an email that the individual had to make an emergency trip out of town and would not be giving my quote today. I informed her that I had took today off work specifically to get a quote. Again, she did not seem concerned and told me he'd call to reschedule the next day. I asked if anyone else could come give a quote today and she refused. All-in-all, I would not recommend these time wasters. I found them to be incredibly rude and it iritates me to have my time wasted in such a fashion.
This notice is an addendum to indicate which items were NOT packed at the pickup location in Santa Maria California.
1) 2 each King Size beds
2) 4 each Chairs, folding
3) 1 each Freezer, medium ,( because the leader of the shipping crew complained “there was so much stuff I have to think what I was going to leave behind” even though they were listed on the original shipping list to Kristina)
4) 3 each Garbage cans (4 listed only 1 taken)
5) 1 each Hamper (2 listen only 1 taken)
6) 1 each Ladders To 7 (took 1 of the 2 listed on shipping invoice “ladders” which was actually a 4 foot step stool and the following morning the same “ladder” was returned on the truck and we have no accounting of what happened to it. It should be noted that the “ladder” when returned appeared to be used by the shipping crew during the move, but again we have no accounting of the locating now of the “ladder”)
7) 1 each Ladder, Extension
8) 1 each Picture, Small (10 listed only took 9)
9) 1 each Sofa, 3 Seat/bed (2 listed only 1 taken, other had to give away, because the leader of the shipping crew complained “there was so much stuff I have to think what I was going to leave behind” even though they were listed on the original shipping list to Kristina)
10) 1 each Table, Glass Top (2 listed had to give 1 away, because the leader of the shipping crew complained “there was so much stuff I have to think what I was going to leave behind” even though they were listed on the original shipping list to Kristina)
11) 5 each Tool Box, Sm
12) 2 each Garden Tools (10 listed 8 taken)
13) 2 each Patio Umbrella
14) 1 each Work Bench, reg
In addition there were 2 chandeliers 1 of which was to have been taken and packed the other was planned to be replaced where the first one was removed BOTH items were packed. When discovered, the location of the replacement was questioned and the answer was “somewhere on the truck”. By refusing to remove the extra chandelier it caused us to have to purchase yet another new replacement.
The above listed items were reported to the lead of the shipping team and still ignored; with some items being moved into the garage by the packing team and not discovered until after the loaders left. In addition 1 of the folding chairs was placed ON TOP of a trash can and left.
Numerous boxes purchased by us were used by packing crew, of 100 purchased only 5 were left, in doing so those boxes can no longer be returned to the store for the refund. This was a full service move and clearly states that the boxes will be supplied by APEX not the shipper.
The invoice also states that ALL drawers MUST be emptied, but since again this was a full move that was to be done by the shipping crew. Instead of doing so they used packing tape to wrap around the dressers with the items still inside.
Additionally the Grand Father clock was not properly packed, it also was just wrapped around the wood with packing tape (it clearly states that such items will be covered in shipping blankets in your “BINDING MOVING ESTAMATE” and placed on the truck. This fact was brought to the packing crew attention to which they just ignored – several times --. Also per the instructions ALL mattress and box springs MUST be placed in either a mattress box or plastic mattress bags for “SANITARY REASONS”. This WAS NOT done by the loading crew - so for SANITARY REASONS these items will not be accepted at the delivery point and you will have to pay full value for replacement of these items.
Glassware was NOT properly packed in shipping boxes instead it was just put in the boxes; this again was called to the attention of the packing crew and ignored.
Clothing that was hung up and to have been rehung in clothing boxes was not instead it was just thrown in the bottom of the containers. The proof of this is that we still have all the metal rods that were removed from the boxes and left behind in the separate rooms.
This has turned out to NOT be a full service move let alone a professional one. Patricia was guaranteed by Kristina that the very most the move could cost would have been $15,000 and that was reaffirmed with the BINDING MOVING ESTIMATE dated October 9, 2017. Yet at 4:30 pm on October 24, 2017 Patricia was provided with an invoice $9000.00 higher! This invoice was NOT provided before the packing began as required but rather AFTER it was finished. Your BINDING MOVING ESTIMATE clearly states under the section titled “REVISED WRITTEN ESTIMATE: If prior to or on the day of the scheduled pick-up the shipper makes a change to the initial order for which they received an estimate (2) APEX MOVING AND STORAGE and shipper may execute a Revised/Recession document, PRIOR TO LOADING OR OTHERWISE BEGINNING THE JOB….This WAS NOT done in fact AFTER the 2nd days load at 4:30 PM the document was presented by the shipping crew leader and Patricia was informed she HAD TO date the document to the previous day (October 23, 2017) which she refused to do. In addition the shipping crew leader demanded to be paid in cash as well as informing PATRICIA she has to pay the tip to the crew. She had already provided dinner and beverages to the crew.
Kristina had already estimated the costs higher than was expected of the move, in her own words “so that there would not be and surprises or higher bill” . It should be noted that in fact there were LESS items taken by the shipping crew than were in the original BINDING MOVE ESTIMATE and that they were not accounted for on the last day in fact the shipping crew claims to have picked up an additional 1500 cubic feet. This would make the load – by their claim – 4,471 cubic feet. But since an average 53 foot moving truck can only carry 3816 not allowing for irregular shaped items one would have to wonder how the additional 655 plus cubic feet would arrive in Florida if the packing crew were correct in their math. We have faith in Kristina’s math and correctness of cubic feet even though there were items left behind. It should also be noted that the Company Invoice that was e-mailed to Patricia on October 25, 2017 at 3:10:18 pm had attached the ORIGINAL list of items that were submitted to Kristina on October 9, 2017 and was just a copy of same. The October 25, 2017 DOES NOT even list the items left behind but does contain the exact same starting number that Kristina had of cubic foot of shipment and only adds 1500 of unexplained cubic feet of material. This appears to be nothing but a bait and switch operation by the shipping crew as well as the exploitation of a disabled woman which under Federal ADA law is illegal.
It’s time to file an class action suit against this company they lie and rip people off for big profits!! They break your things Susan the manager is rude!!
